WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN SURF FOILING?
To get to know your Surf Foil Setup you should test it behind a boat or a jetski. There are different ways to do the Take Off on your Surf Foil, check out our Take Off Tutorial in our Surf Foil Blog. If you don't have a access to a boat or Jetski, you can also try a surf bungee rope or just paddle as hard as you can.
SHOULD I TRY MY SURF FOIL IN A CROWDED SPOT?
Please be aware off that your Surf Foil can be a dangerous thing if you can't control it. As far as we noticed, the first experiences on a Surf Foil is like riding a realy angry bull. Wipeouts and Flips will be normal. Please make sure that there are no other surfers or swimmers close by when you check out your foil the first times and always wear a helmet. The choice of swell should be not highe than waist high and if you can find a mellow Longboard wave you will notice that you are on the right spot.
WHAT IS THE PERFECT POSITION AND STAND ON A SURF FOIL
As a friend said "Foil is a bitch", so if you think of a bullride you are close to what will happen to you. You have to anticipate that the Foil will shoot you straight to the moon if you don't put a lot of weight on the front foot. Your backfoot should be over the Foil mast or a little bit in front of your Foil position, the knee of your backfoot should be like a dropknee. While balancing the centerline you want to look straight in the direction where you are foiling ...don't look down !! Don't check your nails !!
